couples counselling in halifax

Feeling disconnected with your partner?
Wondering what is happening with your relationship?
Looking to move forward with your partner?
I can help.
Sometimes couples run into difficulties in their relationships. Oftentimes this can be resolved through opening up communication and looking at patterns in the relationship. The goal of couples therapy at our private clinic in Halifax is to help build intimacy, trust, and communication in order to foster a more positive relationship.
In order to do this, I draw upon Systems, Cognitive Behavioural, and Acceptance and Commitment approaches to help you define what matters in your relationship, and work towards it. Generally, this first involves the three of us getting to know each other. The next steps are getting the two of you talking, catching each other doing something good, spending more time together, learning problem-solving skills, and learning to accept your partner for who they are.
It is important to note that our practice is inclusive. Our Halifax practice is LGBTQ friendly and open to members of all cultural groups. I identify as a sex positive (Sex+) intersectional practitioner who strongly values and promotes consent when working with couples. As long as you are working towards building intimacy, communication, safety, and trust between each other, you are welcome here.
